The Beatles - Long, Long, Long

It would be remiss of me to not extend the theme from today's earlier post with this tribute. George Harrison would have turned 66 today. This is one of his songs.

That song drives me fucking insane. It immediately succeeds "Helter Skelter", so you have the volume turned down, and you can barely hear it.

I could have played While My Guitar or Here Comes the Sun, but that's not original. This is a great song. (Also, why are you turning Helter Skelter DOWN?)

It's so loud.

I like this song better than those. But I mean, it's just amazing how every decision surrounding that album has some degree of self-indulgence. You have these two good songs, one incredibly loud, the other incredibly quiet, and you have to put them next to each other so that someone listening to the album has to adjust the volume on-the-fly.

I could have picked "My Sweet Lord," of course, but then someone would have mentioned the Chiffons, and then I would need to start stabbing and I just wouldn't have known how to stop.
